Where is felwood located
Many of the quests in Felwood involve killing the satyr here and scattered throughout the rest of the corrupted woods. Jadefire Run A satyr encampment in northern Felwood. The most powerful satyr in Felwood make their home in Jadefire Run, so exercise caution when adventuring in the area.
Jaedenar Enclave of the Shadow Council in Felwood. The mortal of highest rank at the site is the orc warlock Fel'dan. Jaedenar is named after the Eredar warlock Kil'jaeden. Together with Gul'dan, he originally founded the Shadow Council on Draenor. A Nathrezim named Lord Banehollow also exists at the back of Jaedenar and may be the overseer of the hold.
The Shadow Council and its warlock agents took up residence in a series of ancient night elf ruins somewhere within Felwood, though no habitable villages were found in the cursed region at the time. It was once a druidic barrow den, but members of the Shadow Council overtook it. Archimonde appointed Banehollow during the Third War and tasked him with the cultivation of a network of fanatical spies who would infiltrate and corrupt the lands of mortals.
The majority of the residents here are satyrs, but there are a number of other demons and corrupted mortals residing in the walls of Jaedenar as well. The central focus of Jaedenar is the corrupted barrow den of Shadow Hold. Morlos'Aran Once a great night elf settlement, long before the Great Sundering. It is located at the southern edge of Felwood. Once thriving cities, now these ruins only serve as a reminder of the golden age that was lost long ago.
The Ruins of Constellas is an area of Felwood. Xavathras, and his group of Jadefire satyr, inhabit the area. Judging by the remnants of the architecture, and the existence of a moonwell, it used to be one of the many night elven settlements near Mount Hyjal. This settlement was presumably destroyed in the Great Sundering.
The moonwell has since become corrupted with Fel energy, and is being cultivated by Xavathras on behalf of Xavaric. It is a gigantic subterranean labyrinth roamed by Jaedenar warlocks and their demonic pets. Night elf Arko'narin is being held captive inside as well as her close friend, a human by the name of Trey Lightforge, who later turns out to have been tortured to death. Shatter Scar Vale is where many of the demonic infernals fell to Azeroth during the invasion of the Burning Legion during the Third War.
Stillsmoldering craters dot the vale, and demons still wander the scarred landscape. Shrine of the Deceiver A corrupted barrow den located at Jaedenar in Felwood. It is also home to one of the two tribes of pure furbolgs left in the world — the Timbermaw tribe , and there are no dungeons or battlegrounds of any kind in this area. Before its corruption, it was a part of northern Ashenvale. As the Burning Legion continued it's advance toward Mount Hyjal , Lord Archimonde commanded the corruption of the surrounding forest to weaken the defenses of the protecting night elves.
The dreadlord Tichondrius used a powerful warlock artifact called the Skull of Gul'dan to desecrate the surrounding forests, resulting in mutated wildlife, corrupted ancients and a polluted environment, creating Felwood. The recently freed Illidan Stormrage , was told by Arthas Menethil that he could use the skull to not only halt the advancing corruption, but increase his own power as well.
His desire for magic driving him, Illidan braved the dangers of Felwood and took the skull, stopping the corruption from spreading. Illidan then defeated Tichondrius, but was banished by his brother Malfurion for using demonic power. The Timbermaw tribe started out hostile and required quite a bit of grinding on the local corrupted Furbolgs to become friendly. Bloodvenom Post served as the only Horde settlement in the zone, and Talonbranch Glade was the same for the Alliance.
Although no large villages or major cities exist, Felwood is populated by many Emerald Circle outposts, showing their increased presence and success. The furbolgs and satyrs of Felwood have small encampments, and the Alliance , the Horde , and the druids of the Cenarion Circle have set up an outpost, an encampment, and a homestead in order to try to cure the woods and provide travel through the area.
Notably, the druids have cleansed a patch of northern Felwood that is now called Whisperwind Grove , even containing an uncorrupted moonwell. The demon Xaravan seeks to undermine the circle's efforts from within. Talonbranch Glade expanded considerably, being reinforced by Alliance worgen. The Horde goblins in Irontree Clearing have come into conflict with the elves and worgen, serving as the only Horde outpost in Felwood.
Meanwhile, the volatile experiments on Felwood's oozes by Winna Hazzard has resulted in the catastrophic loss of Bloodvenom Post and it's people. Altsoba Ragetotem was the only survivor. Lastly, the demon hunter Feronas Sindweller , former student of Illidan, seeks to continue his master's work and slay the remaining demons of Felwood. Alternatively, druids of both factions, or players who were teleported to Moonglade during the Lunar Festival , can enter Felwood from Moonglade through the Timbermaw Hold tunnel.
The furbolgs in the tunnel are initially unfriendly and do not attack. Map of Felwood prior to Cataclysm. Topographic map of Felwood. Felwood is home to several characters of note. At the Emerald Sanctuary, Greta Mosshoof attempts to cleanse the taint that has affected Felwood by fighting back the evil satyr.
Darla Drilldozer leads the Horde goblins in Irontree Clearing in their quest for resources, while Denmother Ulrica leads the attacks on them, believing they are undermining the work of the druids. On the side of the demonic forces, Xavathras leads the satyr from Jadefire Run. The two graveyards are in two really crappy spots and the corpse runs in this area are straight up brutal.
Comment by Where theres not alot of mining here its a good place to go if you want to avoid gankers. Comment by Strangely, there's a Druid trainer up in Talonbranch Glade.
Comment by ehsparkman im suprised no one mentioned this but I went here on my lvl 50 mage and got some good quests that gave awesome rewards money, xp, and items! Comment by is there like a horde village and an ally village or is it dual like tanaris and whats the name if there is 1 of the horde village. Comment by whether you like this zone or not, it is for the most part, just a filler zone because Blizz does not enjoy have giant gaps in the middle of a continent.
The only reason why most people come here is that it is a part of the Linken Quest line and that it is connected to Winterspring, which is not as popular of a place to go as opposed to the Plague Lands, but, it certainly is quite lovely to look at.
Comment by For Alliance and Horde players going for loremaster, there's a quest that drops from mobs in Jaedenar that is hard to catch, due to the low droprate of the quest item, Blood Red Key. This quest item leads to a three part chain, starting with an escort quest, Rescue From Jaedenar. I grinded for about 10 minutes, much beyond what was needed to complete the quest that requires you to kill the mobs in Jaedenar, to get this item. Il check back later to see if there's some way to check if you've done this quest already.
For some reason she does not make eye contact with you-- it's almost as if you are not there to her. PS: The key will be in your keychain if it drops. Comment by Felwood is the site where illidan Stormrage obtained the skull of Gul Dan which gave him his demonic powers power to Metamorph and resulting in corruption. Comment by FlameLazer Man Try to die in Jaedenar! Comment by Im guessing Winterspring Comment by holto97 This is one of the worst zones in azeroth for graveyards.
I wish they would implant some more! In other words, I think Felwood is an alright zone to level in, yet I would choose Western Plaguelands if given the choice. Comment by Thottbot I agree with the comment above me. WPL would be a great place to lvl. Felwood is a great place to grind both for cloth and money, AND for horde if you ever want to get to winterspring you wil have to do some rep grinding.
This place is deffinately FUN I know that for horde if you want to get your lnfernal pet you have to come to felwood And for god sakes dont attack any timbermaws in azshara before you start your rep grinding Comment by Thottbot I'm trying to level my Mage from 53 - 58 to get into Outlands.
This would be a good place to go, right? Just want a simple yes or no. Comment by Thottbot Is there an inn in Felwood? Comment by Thottbot in the new patch ally have a new flight path Comment by Allakhazam After freeing Arko'narin she tells you to meet her friend at the border of Ashenvale, but its more like the bottom quarter of Felwood. Don't be lead astray. Emerald Sanctuary is in Felwood. Not in Ashenvale. Her friend's name is Jessir Moonbow. Hope this keeps someone from wasting time in Ashenvale.
Comment by Allakhazam Just wondering, since i may grind here Comment by Allakhazam This isn't a dungeon, it's a cave with some mobs that drop specific q items for Dleansing Felwood.
